Introduction

This guide is designed to be a compilation of information and resources about the various FFXI jobs that I play. It is not merely a basic job playing guide, but a resource on how to play each job to the fullest in group play (soloing may be touched on briefly, but not the purpose of this guide).

I started this guide because, while there are many general guides to jobs in FFXI, when you start getting into endgame the information gets much more vague, spread out, and I found myself digging through lots of useless information to find what I needed to know. It was overwhelming, and discouraging.

At the least, I want this guide to be a reference for myself, to quickly access the information I need to know. As I create it, I hope my efforts to dig up as much useful information about my jobs, will prove useful to others, and hopefully make it easier for those who follow.

I plan to include:

  • Tips and tricks to making the most of each jobs spells and abilities
  • How to maximize use of your macro pallets
  • Useful information for each job about specific mobs and events
  • Detailed armor list. Where to start, what to upgrade, what to keep, situational usage, and explanations on why, to help each person make an informed decision for themselves.
I will use two types of entries. Guide entries, where I will try to be as objective as possible, which will be useful as a reference, and Observation entries where I will discuss my own experiences. I will include links to where I found my information, as well as where to read additional information, and discussions on a topic.

Suggestions and feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, and I hope you find this guide helpful.
